Shawn Szydlowski Announces Retirement

January 7, 2025 - Fort Wayne, IN - After 14 seasons as a pro and 10 with the Fort Wayne Komets, forward Shawn Szydlowski has announced his retirement from professional hockey. Szydlowski, 34, played his first pro game in 2011 with the Portland Pirates of the AHL. After stints with Rochester (AHL), Gwinnett (ECHL), and Fort Worth (CHL), he was assigned to Komets from the Buffalo Sabers, making his Memorial Coliseum debut on October 23, 2013. Komets Hit the Road for the Next Three Games

January 6, 2025 - Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets dropped four games last weekend to fall into third place in the Central Division with a mark of 18-12-1-0 for 37 points. The team heads to Tulsa for two games on Friday and Saturday, before playing Wichita on Sunday. December 30, 2024 - Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets swept all three games last weekend to put the club within striking distance of the top spot in the Central Division with a record of 18-8-1-0 for 37 points. Connor Ungar Named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

December 30, 2024 - SHREWSBURY, N.J. - Connor Ungar of the Fort Wayne Komets is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 23-29. Ungar went 3-0-0 with a 1.60 goals-against average and a save percentage of .947 in three appearances last week. The 22-year-old stopped 18 shots in a 4-2 win at Indy on Friday, made 39 saves in a 4-1 victory over Cincinnati on Saturday and turned aside 32 shots - while stopping all four shootout attempts - in a 3-2 win against Indy on Sunday.
